More than 20 years experience of Product Management in the UK fashion retail and manufacturing sector with a number of leading retailers such as C & A, The Burton Group (Arcadia, Debenhams), Sears Plc and Storehouse (BhS), as buyer, marketing manager, buying and merchandising controller, Divisional General Manager, Divisional Trading Manager, and Buying and Merchandising Director (plus a time as Merchandise Director for a substantial international jeans and casual wear brand).
I have been a member of the full time faculty at Oxford Brookes for 20 years. For seven years I was Field Chair of the Business and Retail Management field, responsible for the academic direction and administration of the Retail Management degrees and for the Diploma in Logistics (CIoLT).
For 8 years I was the Programme Director for a number of MSc programmes for the Business School including the MSc in Marketing, MSc eMarketing, MSc Business & Enterprise, MSc Innovation Creativity & Enterprise, MSc Advanced Marketing Strategy and for two and a half years also Head of MSc Programmes.
I led the MBA module in Global Marketing Strategy at Birmingham University Business School for 5 years and was the external examiner for MBA at Loughborough University Business School. I am a member of the International Faculty on the MBA programme of the Ecole de Management Grenoble for whom I teach MBA Marketing and MBA International Marketing both in Grenoble and also in Moscow.
I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, the Chartered Institute of
Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) where I was also a Chief Examiner and later Senior Assessor for the Graduate Diploma and Supply Chain Management in Practice courses. I am an
associate course director and professional member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
